Maintenance Technician

The person in this position works under general supervision, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.

•High School diploma or equivalent
•Two years healthcare maintenance experience preferred.
•Two years supervisory experience in a building construction, maintenance or repair work
•Mechanically inclined with knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, heating/ ventilation/air conditioning/refrigeration (HVAC-R)
•Knowledge of proper and safe use of hand and power tools.
•Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval

•Under the supervision of the Plant Operations Director, has primary responsibility for accomplishing minor corrective maintenance and minor additions and alterations to the Hospital Physical Plant.
•Corrective type repairs to restore buildings and mechanical plant equipment to its original or normal condition includes, but is not limited to, minor carpentry work and minor electrical work such as replacement of patient area light bulbs, HVAC filters, etc.
•Maintain proper daily documentation for all work performed including, but not limited to Preventive Maintenance Work Orders, Repair Work Orders.
•Maintain communications with all affected departments, directors/managers as appropriate while conducting repairs on equipment/building infrastructure components.

•Must be able to lift and carry up to 70 pounds unassisted
•Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
•Must have color vision.
•Must be able to stoop, bend, reach and grab with arms and hands, manual dexterity.
